Elyse Bruce
Musician, Entrepreneur, Disability Advocate
April 29, 2010 (Peterborough, ON) – Elyse Bruce is a multi-talented woman — a musician, composer, songwriter, performer, educator, event planner and fundraiser for charitable causes, who has taught marketing and songwriting courses at Trent University. She was Artist-in-Residence for the French Canadian Association of Regina (SK) in 2000 and 2001.
Through her role as an advocate for her 14-year-old son, Elyse Bruce is an expert on Autism Spectrum Disorders. She posts audio podcasts on Autism Spectrum Disorders on her websites at www.elysebruce.com and www.midnightinchicago.com.
Since 2006, Bruce has operated MIDNIGHT IN CHICAGO, an international tourism and cultural initiative that raises awareness and funding for Autism Spectrum Disorders and related illnesses.
In 2009, Bruce created a monthly e-newsletter called “Cost Conscious Marketing” to assist businesses and non-profits to stretch their marketing dollars.
Bruce is very active in the community, including acting as a volunteer francophone liaison with Market Hall, being a volunteer performer at the Festival of Trees, and mentoring developmentally delayed youth who are interested in the arts.
